Which slots bonuses you should avoid?
The first thing you need to know about different slot bonuses, or any casino bonuses for that matter, is that although bonus always sounds great, not all bonuses are really beneficial for you. Why? The main reason is that all bonuses have certain limitations, the most important ones are the playthrough and the maximum cash out. (Don’t worry, we will explain in a second).
So what does maximum cashout means? Exactly as it sounds- it means that if you take the bonus, there is a limit to what you can actually withdraw. For example: you used a $/£/€ 100 bonus with maximum cashout of $/£/€ 500. You hit the jackpot and win 25,000 $/£/€. Congrats! Now you go to the cashier to withdraw your winnings- the amount that you will get is not 25k, but the maximum cashout amount, which is 500. Bummer…
Rule #1: Do not take bonuses with maximum cashout limitations. The only exception is in case you are getting them for free, like a $10 casino no deposit bonus.
What is PlayThrough
Second important parameter of slots bonuses is the playthrough. Playthrough, also refered as wagering requirements (PT or WR), is the amount you need to bet to “clear” the bonus, i.e., before you can cash out. When you get a bonus from a casino, you cannot cash it out immediately. If that was the case, it would make no sense for the casino to give it to you. You need to bet a certain amount of $/€/pounds before it becomes cashable. That amount is called the playthrough.
